Dallas is at a pivot point. The City has long been in violation of state law, and thanks to Proposition S, accountability is no longer optional. Historically, the City has not only persisted in undermining public safety, but has also actively participated in “hindering efforts to connect individuals experiencing homelessness with necessary resources and services.” That’s why Keep Dallas Safe asserts that these homeless camps are government-sponsored slums. |
Since Proposition S was passed with overwhelming public support, Dallas government officials no longer have immunity for violating the law. But accountability requires action, and a group called Dallas HERO is here for it. They’ve given the City 60 days to address the issue or face legal action. The group that championed Proposition S recently stated their potential lawsuit isn’t about conflict—it’s about holding city leaders to their duty. HERO has made it clear that the goal is simple: make Dallas’ leaders follow the laws they were elected to uphold. Prop S has provided Dallas residents a path to take back their city, and citizens are demanding action. It’s important that we make our voices heard and urge our city leaders to implement a plan to address this issue NOW: enforce the law and deliver real solutions! |
Contact your city council member today and let them know this issue can’t wait. The timeline is is motion! Together, we can make Dallas a model for safety, accountability, and progress. The future of our city depends on it. |
