Don't let THIS happen here.

EVER.

Keep Dallas Safe was created in response to the radical “Defund the Police” ideology which spread along with violent riots across the country in Summer 2020. As cities like Minneapolis, Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Austin gutted their police budgets and surrendered to the mob, most Dallas residents thought this craziness could never come here. But it did.
In September 2020, the Dallas City Council voted to cut an already massively underfunded and understaffed department by $7 Million. Meanwhile, city leaders like T.C Broadnax saw to it that violent rioters were not punished for their crimes. Keep Dallas Safe was created in Fall 2020 because Dallas residents said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We want safe residential streets where our kids can play. We want to walk downtown without being accosted by a mob or assaulted by mentally ill drug addicts.
We want a police force that is responsible, responsive, and respected with the funds and manpower they need to do their job. With 2021 murder rates and crime rates on the rise, Keep Dallas Safe is demanding that Dallas Police recruit, train, and deploy 2000 additional officers without delay to protect our community.

Achievements

Keep Dallas Safe has been the only 100% pro-public safety organization in Dallas since October 2020. Since then, our members have advocated for and achieved:

  • A comprehensive Civil Unrest plan to address future riots. Since the plan was implemented, there have been no large riots in Dallas.
  • The partial reversal of the September 2020 defunding vote (with the $7 Million reallocated to police services)
  • An “anti-cruising” bill in November 2020 to allow police to crack down on prostitution and sex trafficking in the Harry Hines Boulevard area
  • Approval of a bill in December 2020 to give police the supplies and ammunition they needed

With crime and murder rates up and a massive influx of illegal migrants, it is critical that our work continues.

Current Policy Priorities

  • City Council must fund the recruitment, training, and deployment of 2,000 more officers to address the crime wave in Dallas. Dallas currently has one of the lowest police officers to residents ratios in the country — even lower than that of leftist San Francisco. This is unacceptable. We need a police force that arrives within 5 minutes of any call.
  • We need a comprehensive solution towards the issue of homelessness. KDS believes in providing appropriate temporary housing and job opportunities to those experiencing homelessness. We believe in helping these individuals get back on their feet through drug rehab, job training, and education. However, we advocate for a zero-tolerance policy towards vagrancy. Dallas Police must aggressively enforce anti-vagrancy laws to prevent mentally ill panhandlers from harassing local business owners and patrons. Immigrant small business owners and low-wage workers are the most affected by the constant danger and expense of dealing with these individuals, many of whom have no interest in bettering themselves. While “Affordable Housing” program advocates are often well-intentioned, these programs will NOT address the root of the problem.
  • KDS does not want facilities housing illegal migrants in our city or the Metroplex. The Biden Administration has made it very clear that it intends to release migrants with criminal convictions on to American streets without due process. Thus, we do not trust that this will not happen here. While many illegal migrants come to our country in search of a better life, many others are, unfortunately, gang members who pose a risk to our city. Dallas leaders must make sure that no illegal migrants are released on our streets, particularly not those with any criminal history.
