When it comes to stripping law enforcement of funding and necessary powers, advocates for defunding the police (as in 11 Dallas City Council Members who voted to do so in September) will use different terms in an attempt to deceive voters as to their true intentions. Whatever language they choose to use to muddle the truth, these anti-law and order politicians and the activists (money) behind them have a clear goal: to end law enforcement altogether. What happens when the police are abolished?
This is from a Washington Post article about the City of Minneapolis which gutted its police department this summer:
“Homicides in Minneapolis are up 50 percent, with nearly 75 people killed across the city so far this year. More than 500 people have been shot, the highest number in more than a decade and twice as many as in 2019. And there have been more than 4,600 violent crimes — including hundreds of car jackings and robberies — a five-year high.”
Or how about Seattle which destroyed its police department as well.
Fox News notes:
“Seattle is seeing a sharp rise in violent crime. The city recorded 28 homicide victims last year and 32 in 2018, according to police figures. Going back to 2008, the last year of data available, murders never topped 30 prior to 2018. Burglaries are also up. This year, the police department has reported 8,418 burglary incidents, compared to 7,634 in 2019.”
Dallas is not immune. We have seen an increase in murders and assaults since the Dallas City Council voted to defund our police department. Without ordinary people, like you, our KDS family, standing up for law and order, these upticks in crime will only be the beginning. So, when politicians tell you they only want to “reimagine” public safety, remember their true intention is abolition. They will defund the police now and abolish it entirely when they can. That is why Keep Dallas Safe will not waver in its commitment to holding these decision makers accountable for their votes. Now and through the may elections, you can count on KDS to keep you up to date on the latest liberal fiascos coming out of City Hall.
